For walkers, The Boyne Way and the Loughcrew Hills provide perfect walking through the surounding landscape. There are also a wide range of formal gardens which are open to the public.
Golfing
There are an abundance of attractive golf courses, many a short drive from Mullagh, all designed to provide enjoyment should you be seeking a truly competitive game or simply a relaxing round in pleasant surroundings.
Headfort Golf Club
Headfort Golf Club, based in the historic town of Kells, is considered one of Ireland's most scenic golf courses. Headfort has recently expanded to become Leinster's first 36 hole complex with the addition of a new, Christy O'Connor Jnr. designed, championship course. With the River Blackwater sweeping though and featuring on 13 of 18 holes, Headfort Golf Club is the definitive "must visit" on any golfing itinerary.
Navan Golf Course
Navan Golf Course is located on the lands of Navan Racecourse. It is a challenge for even the most experienced of golfers with a total length of 6082 metres. A bonus for the winter golfer is the excellent sand based greens. The course is popular with golf societies, and everyone from beginners to the very experienced are always welcome. The adjoining driving range allows you the opportunity to improve your swing.

Angling and Fishing
The fishing season runs from February/March to September and there is game angling, sea angling and coarse angling in abundance in the area.
Game Angling
Game angling takes place in the River Boyne for salmon and trout and brown trout is plentiful in Kells Blackwater, Athboy Timblestown River, Stoneyford River, River Deel and Riverstown River. The Upper Boyne Lakes offer up wild brown trout.
Lough Sheelin, the White Lake and Lough Bane have great trout fishing. Drumconrath village is surrounded by about 20 lakes which have great fishing, especially Moynalty Lake, Ballyhoe Lake and Capragh Lake. These lakes offer bream, rudd, pike and tench.
Sea Angling
Sea angling is popular at a number of venues, including Clogherhead pier, the beaches around the Boyne estuary, Baltry and Morrington at the mouth of the River Boyne, and south of the River Boyne at the beaches of Bettystown and Laytown. The line-up of fish species is impressive! Mackerel, Mullet, Coalfish, Codling, Conger, Dabs, Plaice, Sea-trout, Bass, Flounder.
Coarse Angling
Coarse Angling is a popular past-time, especially in the lakes around Bailiborough, Virginia and Drumcondrath where bream, roach, perch, pike, rudd, tench and hybrids are caught.

Kells Equestrian Centre
Kells Equestrian Centre has a modern, purpose-built indoor equestrian arena with changing areas, showers and toilets, facilitating riders in all types of weather. It includes a lecture room for presentations on the more theoretical aspects of horsemanship, as well as a coffee shop/canteen which accommodates the equally important social aspect of equestrian sport. Visitors can also enjoy cross-country, show-jumping, dressage or just a leisurely hack.
Bachelors Lodge Equestrian Centre
Bachelors Lodge offers excellent facilities to the discerning rider. Across 200 acres of farmland is an inviting yet challenging cross country course. A large all weather arena is available for schooling, show-jumping, private tuition, dressage etc. Farm traksand residential pony camps are another feature of our program. Qualified tuition to all standards and ages.
Navan Racecouse
Navan Racecourse has been recognised as one of the fastest growing racetracks in the country.
Horse Racing has taken place at Navan's "Royal County" Proudstown site since the 1920's. Set in 181 acres, the track is highly respected by Owners and Trainers who recognise that it's stiff uphill finish is a true test of their horses fitness and stamina.
Fairyhouse Racecouse
Fairyhouse has always been one of the finest and fairest racecourses and continues to attract the leading horses both on the flat and over jumps.
Established as one of the most modern facilities in the country, providing an outstanding level of comfort and service.
